Officially Chosen as SiriusXM The Highway Channel’s Newest “Highway Find” Artist

Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville recording artist Ingrid Andress is holding her ground in a relationship that's become too casual for comfort in her brand new song “Both,” available everywhere now (LISTEN HERE). PAPER immediately added the track to their “Bops Only: 10 Songs You Need To Start Your Weekend Right” list, praising the way she “skewers conventional patriarchal storytelling with a refreshingly empowered perspective and a charming sense of humor,” (READ HERE). The acclaimed singer/songwriter has also been officially selected as the newest “Highway Find” artist by SiriusXM’s hugely popular country music radio channel The Highway“Both” and “More Hearts Than Mine” will be added into the program’s regular rotation while continuing to highlight “Lady Like” in the On The Horizon category.

“I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a pro at relationships,” Andress admitted on Instagram, “but I do know it’s important to be honest with the person you want to be with. ‘Casual dating’ is a fun thing we do now, and I’m here for it, but that doesn’t mean you have to pretend you don’t want something deep and meaningful just because somebody isn’t emotionally ready for you. ‘Both’ is about sticking up for yourself and what you want in a relationship. I wrote this song for my friends, but I realize now that I wrote it for everybody.”

“Both,” written by Andress, Derrick Southerland and Jordan Schmidt, follows the deeply personal “More Hearts Than Mine,” an “elegantly written song” that The New York Times chose to highlight as one of nine notable tracks the week it was released (READ HERE). Billboard and CMT premiered its equally poignant music video earlier this month, featuring Andress in their “Rising Country Artist Spotlight” series (WATCH HERE), as the emotional ballad rapidly nears two million on-demand streams in the U.S alone.

The acclaimed singer/songwriter with “talent in spades” (MusicRow) also made her “self-assured [and] expressive” (Rolling Stone) national TV debut on Late Night With Seth Meyers in April, performing her first major-label release “Lady Like.” The empowering anthem had been made available only two months prior and now rapidly approaches six million on-demand streams globally. PAPER applauded how the song’s “lyrical specificity, moments of self-critical vulnerability and raw vocal gravity makes [country music’s] well-worn motifs sound fresh,” going on to praise its “sound built on clean pop melodies, but laced with country's swagger and cinematic storytelling in the style of crossover stalwarts like Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift and Kylie Minogue” (READ MORE HERE).

The Colorado-native was also recently selected for Billboard LIVE’s CMA Fest kick off in Nashville Monday, June 3 with a special performance alongside fellow CMT Next Women of Country inductees Caylee Hammack, Lauren Jenkins and The Sisterhood Band. She is then set to join label-mates Tucker Beathard, Hunter Hayes, Cody Johnson and Ashley McBryde that Saturday, June 8 for the Firestone Country Roads Stage at Ascend Amphitheater Presented by Warner Music Nashville.

ABOUT INGRID ANDRESS

"A country pop rookie who can write a chorus like Sia," (PAPER), Ingrid Andress continues to chip away at expectations of herself and her sound with her latest release “Both.” Before becoming an Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville recording artist, the Colorado-native was born into a large family and homeschooled as a child. This close-knit family dynamic inspired the “elegantly written” (New York Times), “More Hearts Than Mine,” that followed her first major-label release, “Lady Like.” With several co-writer credits to her name, including “Steady 1234” and Charli XCX’s “Boys,” Andress first honed her skills writing with heavy hitters in the music community such as Sam Hunt and Alicia Keys. Declared as “arguably one of the most creative tunesmiths to call Nashville home in recent memory” by CMT, she will continue to release new music in 2019 that proves her to be one of the most unique and moving vocalists in the country space and beyond; one that is thrillingly honest, raw and refreshing in a way rarely seen emanating from Music City.
